How many days in seville

Close to everything and with a charming courtyard, it looks like a nice place to stay. Le Petite Paris is a guesthouse that is centrally located in the historic part of Seville, not far from all of the main sights. A great affordable option, this place has private bathrooms and air conditioning. You are spoiled for choice in Seville. There are tons of places to try tapas and other delicious Spanish food while you are visiting Seville.

All of these places have vegetarian options. Bar el Comercio — Cute Spanish bar famous for its Vermouth and churros. Amorino Gelato — Chain that serves up delicious gelato shaped like a rose. Bodego dos de Mayo — Tapas bar recommend by a local and frequented by locals. Great place to have a tapas dinner and sangria. Real Alcazar: I arrived late to Seville after driving from Ronda through some white villages in Cadiz province for the day. The traffic in Seville is no joke.

I was there at 8 pm and it was chaotic and confusing trying to navigate some of the larger streets and roundabouts. It was nice to get into the smaller but no less confusing tiny roads. I was too tired to do much more than walk around the neighbourhood and grab some groceries to make up a quick pasta dinner on this day.

Make sure to budget for parking as it can add up very quickly, costing up to 30 euros a day to park in lots. I left some flexibility in my two days in Seville schedule in case of bad weather. Even in the rain, there were lots of people out on the streets and the city had a vibrancy about it. The rain let up enough that I could hear them squawking about and it somehow added to the atmosphere of the city.

This meant I had to wait in line for an hour while I watched better-prepared tourists go in quickly with their pre-booked tickets. If you are headed to the Real Alcazar, book your ticket in advance here. Note that they have free admission on Mondays. If you prefer guided tours, this tour of the Alcazar has priority entrance. The Real Alcazar is a large palace with a gorgeous Moorish style of columns, vaulted ceilings, and brilliantly scrolled arches.

It was my first time seeing the Moorish style of architecture. It was enjoyable to wander around the palace and see all of the different courtyards within the building. While I was there, there was a free exhibit on the importance of tile to Seville.

I admit, there is a limit to how interesting I can find tile. Unfortunately, because it was windy and raining, the courtyards and gardens were closed to exploring. The glimpses I caught of the gardens looked like it was very beautiful though. After a morning spent waiting in line and exploring the Real Alcazar, I was starving.

Luckily there are lots of restaurants near to the Alcazar and Cathedral. The nearby Almiranta Tapas Bar is a good place for a tapas lunch. There is a good amount of vegetarian tapas on the menu as well as all the usual offerings. I had a really yummy deep fried asparagus with chive mayo dip here, I highly recommend it. It was also a good place to try goat cheese that came with different jams and crackers. In the morning, the line up for the Cathedral was long , it looked like it would easily take an hour.

Luckily, after lunch, there was no line up at all. You can also book online to skip the lines if you know what your schedule is going to be like. Seville is entirely walkable as the city center is compact, there are spectacular sights to visit like the Alcazar palace, Plaza de Espana, and Seville cathedral, and the tapas scene is scrumptious.

It's more manageable than bigger tourist cities like Madrid and Barcelona and it offers a more authentic vibe where you feel like you've traveled back in time. You could easily see all the major sights in two days. A very busy two days. If you're trying to fit in a number of cities on your itinerary since it's your first trip to Spain, which is completely understandable, two days will allow you enough time to feel like you saw all the musts and then move on to the next stop.

If you aren't squeezing too many places on your Spain itinerary, this is the place I would bake in extra time for a number of reasons. The city is absolutely beautiful and a joy to walk around and take in your surroundings. Stop by a shop here and there, sit by the river, find your favorite rooftop to sip on sangria as the sun sets, and just take a break from reality and feel like you've been transported to another time and world. Three days will allow you enough time to see all the sights, revisit a few favorite spots, enjoy a Flamenco show, join a walking tour, shop around Plaza Nueva, aimlessly wander the Santa Cruz barrio, and slow down a bit.

You could even fit a quick half- day trip to Cordoba to see the mesmerizing Mezquita, aka the Great Mosque of Cordoba. More than three days in Seville would be wonderful if you're looking to relax and explore every corner of the city, but if it's your first time in Spain, there will be other cities on your itinerary to visit.

On my very first trip to Spain I spent two days in Seville, and even though I longed to stay an extra day, I had other places I wanted to see and was happy with my decision. Consider joining a tour if you have limited time in Seville to make sure you get a good dose of history and sights. If you're short on time and just want to see the highlights of Seville and say you've been there, done that, then two days will be sufficient.

In fact, you could actually get away with Seville as a day trip from Granada or Madrid. If you're joining an organized day tour all the planning will most likely be done for you. If you prefer to do it on your own, you must plan in advance because you'll be fitting a lot in a very short timeline. Buying tickets the day of is just not an option as you'll risk precious hours waiting in line and having to forgo other sights.

In one day you could fit a tour of the Alcazar palace and Seville cathedral, a quick glance at the Setas de Seville the quirky mushroom-shaped wooden structure , and a walk around a few historic areas like barrio Santa Cruz, Maria Luisa Park, and along the river. Such a great itinerary!

While there are certainly a lot of great restaurants in the main area in Seville, we recommend checking out a lot of the restaurants in the Triana neighbourhood, which happen to attract more locals and fewer tourists.

These are some of our top suggestions. This small Triana bar serves some excellent tapas and raciones and is an excellent place to pop in for lunch or a bite to eat in the evening with a beer.

Keep in mind that this place does get incredibly busy, so if you want to ensure you get a table, make sure to arrive early. Service is prompt and they have an extensive menu. Other great dishes to order include their espinacas con garbanzos spinach with chickpeas , a traditional Sevillano dish. There are seemingly endless options for places to stay in Seville and it can be a bit overwhelming when the time comes to book a bed for the night.

We recommend staying somewhere central and within walking distance to most of the sites in this Seville itinerary. The Triana neighbourhood is also a good option if you want to stay in a more alternative neighbourhood while still being close to a lot of action. These are some of our top suggestions:.
