The Works of Josephus. The Bible says after Seth was born, Adam lived another years and had other sons and daughters Genesis Because sons and daughters is plural, we know at a minimum there were at least two more sons and two more daughters in addition to the first three children.
That would bring us to a total of seven children that the Bible specifically mentions belonging to Adam and Eve. Is it likely that there were more children than these seven? The first were Cain and Abel, and then came Seth. However, the Bible and tradition state that Adam and Eve had other sons and daughters Genesis After Adam and Eve left the garden of Eden, where they no longer had access to the tree of life, Eve gave birth to two children, Cain and Abel Genesis As the two boys grew, they were very different.
Abel followed the Lord God and Abel followed his heart. Eventually their differences lead Cain to kill Abel. God cursed Cain for killing his brother and he fled.
However, there is no mention of the exact number of their descendants, just the name of their first 3 sons Cain, Abel, and Seth. He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life. Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation. These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens. When no bush of the field was yet in the land and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up—for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground, He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings.
On the day that you were created they were prepared. The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.
Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near. John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth.
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood Then Cain went away from the presence of the Lord and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden. We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother.
And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother's righteous. For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
I say this in order that no one may delude you with plausible arguments. For though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the firmness of your faith in Christ. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. Behold, you have driven me today away from the ground, and from your face I shall be hidden.
