Who owns williams grove speedway

A staff member declined a request by a PennLive reporter to inspect the track. Overall, LaJoie said, he expected race tracks across the country would take note of the Williams Grove crash and make changes to better protect people in infield areas. Kolten Gouse, general manager and promoter of BAPS Motor Speedway, said he expected all tracks in central Pennsylvania would assess the crash to determine what improvements could be made to their own tracks.

Gouse said the pit areas of his own track, unlike Williams Grove, are outside of its raceway rather than in its center. Gouse, like LaJoie, also believed the crash may lead to changes at other tracks across the country. Gouse is a member of the Sprint Car Council, a national group of roughly 30 high-profile members of the sprint car industry. The group meets several times each year to discuss racing issues, including safety.

By coincidence, the group was scheduled to meet a week after the Williams Grove crash. Tom Deery, president of the World of Outlaws, an organization that holds touring competitions of sprint car races, also said that the crash would be studied by the organization. Deery said his organization has no specific rule regarding infield fencing. Nevertheless, Deery said, the World of Outlaws would still aim to learn from the crash.

In at least one state, however, the Williams Grove crash may spur new requirements. That win meant that Locke had won all eight races that the s ran at the Grove this year.

No driver has ever won every race for a division at the Grove when that division raced on at least a semi-regular basis at the track for the whole season. This week he won again, bringing his season total there to four and his career total there to Herr is also just four wins shy of reaching the magical win mark in super-sportsman competition.

That brought his season total of wins to Nine of those wins were on the local sprint circuit, two came in West Virginia in a sprint and one in a sprint on the local circuit. He currently leads Danny Dietrich by 88 points. Bryan Householder writes about dirt-track racing for The York Dispatch. He can be reached at sports yorkdispatch.
